We just downed almost 3 wings in a little over 2 hours. Minimal deaths and a single wipe. This was probably the most solid run we've had yet and really makes up for the problems we had on Thursday. We've got one more night this week and only 2 bosses left. We know we can kill Saph without much of a problem which just leaves Kel'Thuzad before we can claim a Naxx clear. I think that with another full night of attempts on Kel with the focus and prowess that we displayed tonight we'll get the bastard hopefully with time to go smack something else around.
Next week we're going to be shooting for a 3 wing clear on Thursday and finishing things up on Sunday. That should leave Monday open for other options. What would you all like to run? Options are Malygos(Eye of Eternity) or taking a serious look at Ulduar.

Um...we did have one wipe on 4 horsemen :-P
Ok, now that I'm done ribbing Nykk, I would personally like to see Malygos. Yes, this is partially because I want that sword, but at the same time, I would like to see everything this go around and Malygos was there before Ulduaar (sp?) came out. Plus I think that Malygos could end up being pretty easy for us once we get the fight down.
Believe me, I want to go to Ulduaar too but I have this incredible urge to kill one of the dragon aspects. Take that dragon lovers!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....
Being Kirathis wants to go to Malygos and he rarely asks for anything I suggest we do Uldar. Just to piss him off !!! Just kidding about the Uldar part :)
First off I corrected the wipe part about 2 minutes after the post went up and Grexis reminded me of that.
AS far as the other stuff, personally I don't care about Malygos and would rather go to Ulduar instead, but that's only my opinion and I figure it would be better to have a group consensus.
Of course this only matters assuming that everything works out properly and we have a really good week next week.
Yeah so my email didn't show the correction. I maintain you should have been correct from the start :-P
Yeah I'm sure Ulduar is going to win out because it was dang fun when we went in and just messed around. Even so, I wanna kill a big dragon and get a shiney sword! Ohhhhh shiney!!!!
So I think Kira has just admitted to actually being a Gorloc...
Any suggestions for tonight and how we can make it a success?
For one thing, I think we definately need 3 healers on Kel. Modon and I can handle interrupts and one less DPSer inside is a good thing.
We need to keep Goroxx out like we did with Grexis and have him pick up the adds. This pretty much makes him standing still but we really cannot afford too many inside as that kills us all the time.
Overall I think our general strat we had the last time we fought him was a good one. People simply need to watch where they are going. For one, we need to stay more to the inner circle. We had too many wipes due to someone (usually on the melee side) get to close to a mob and get the pushback into a full room.
We can't just stay tight, but venturing too far from that ring was killing us like mad last time.
One thing I think will help is that the new healing mod I've got will tell me who is hit with Frost Blast. Combined with new strategies from both myself and Devandra in the way we heal I think we'll be better off.
I do think for now having Mack healing, or at least doing DPS from range as best he can is probably the way to go to avoid chaining Frost Blasts and Mana Bombs.
This is going to stretch out the fight by quite a bit, but I think for now until we've got all the mechanics down it's probably the best solution. We're not up against any major enrage timers so pulling a DPS out isn't going to be a big deal. The problem will come after the adds come out. We have to get Kel down before their debuffs stack too high, but I don't think that will be an issue as long as everyone remains alive.
Based on feedback from other high end raiders, we should be able to have melee stand at max range and still avoid that frost tomb thing that Kel does. The key about the circles on the floor is to not shift to the side to avoid it. Move straight back. For the dps if moving straight back means getting out of melee range then so be it. The tank (me) will have to backup to allow melee to get back into position.
That's all true enough, however there are still by necessity multiple people standing on top of each other which means multiple people are getting tombed. By pulling one person out it helps on healing quite a bit.
