Recap, and other stuff.

Last night proved to be a really annoying night. It was a major step backword for us, and really I can't put my finger on why. This has nothing to do with Darchon btw. I was dropping too quickly last night and I have got to figure out why. Tonight before Frazz's run, I'm going to do a review of my spec.... again.. to make sure I have the right points where I need them. I did notice that my armor seemed a bit lower than normal. I was pushing over 26k armor, and now I'm near 25k... I'm using the same gear I always have, save in Outfitter. My health and stam is in the right place. I haven't done a review of my glyphs since 3.1 came out, so I'll be doing that as well.

Last night wasn't a total wash. We may have lost Nykk, but we did pick up Darchon and allowed us to continue. We were able to take down Maexnna and Noth. He did a great job, and even picked up an item. We even let Goroxx main tank Noth, which he did a fantastic job. Maexnna was definitely the problem child, I just couldn't stay up long enough, my isp crapped out again in the middle of a fight, and ended up having Goroxx in tank spec for when I dropped. It all worked out in the end, but I'm certianly not happy with my mitigation right now. As for Noth I had a chance to test out my ret gear, which is still quite limited. I wasn't upset with the results at all. I came out of the gate bursting up to 3k dps, but leveled off to around 2.5k and came in second behind Dratts on that fight of the total damage.

A glyph you should definitely have as a prot pally is Glyph of Divine Plea. It's a 3% straight up damage reduction which is not insignificant.

As for the other stuff I'm not sure what was happening. When Faerlina first enraged there was no problems at all and then all of a sudden you would start taking absolutely huge damage spikes. Because of how fast she hit and human reaction time I wasn't able to get a heal off and when I did, unless it crit it really didn't seem to matter all that much. Looking through your spec one thing you might want to think about doing is dropping reckoning. While it's a nice DPS boost, unless you're expertise capped which I doubt, it's simply another chance to get parry-gibbed which is very possibly what happened on Faerlina last night. I didn't think to turn on outgoing damage on recount last night to find out. If I remember I'll look tonight since I haven't yet deleted the data to see if this might have been the case.

I'm going to be looking at some changes in my stuff as well. As much as I like my crit rate and mana regen where they are, I think I'm going to have to change some things around for some more straight up throughput on healing. The problem with this is it's going to gimp my longevity, but there are some changes I can make to the way I do things to help out with that.

I'm not going to say I did fantastic job on Noth; I did ok. I'm still working hard on picking up multiple mobs when I don't have a lot of AOE attacks.

And as for Maexxna, that was an odd fight to say the least, and a complete team effort to finally take her down. It was very strange in that pretty much nothing had changed from the last time we fought her, but you were getting whacked too easy. Is there some buff that we were missing when Nykk had to drop that could account for there being a permanent Grexis-shaped stain in Maexxna's room now? (nothing against Darchon, of course, he did great)

Overall, a sorta frustrating night, but it was good to see that we could adjust on the fly and show that we've got the teamwork to get the job done.

When I dropped Grexis would have lost Kings which would have dropped his health pool by around 3000 points and could definitely have made a difference.
