Maybe some good news for Ret Paladins

|

After reviewing the changes to the paladin in the 3.1 ptr notes I was worried about retribution builds. My worries were right.. The nurfs blue added to the ret talent tree, for pvp reasons, has lowered the dps ceiling of pve oriented builds.

According to wowinsider, ghostcrawler acknowledges that paladins damage isn't where they want it.

I don't get the need to have a singular talent tree combining pve and pvp talents. Now that dual specs are coming into the game. Maybe its time for them to break apart the trees. I think it would be good to have two identical trees but with different tweaks based on where you are. If your in pvp, have the pvp talents active. And vice versa for pve.

soo basically you mean to have 4 trees instead of 3. actually I kinda think they need to do that. PVP has been intefering ALOT with the PVE aspect and they should just bite the bullet and open up a "PVP" tree on all classes and stop this well pvp is overpowered so lets nurf the crap out of PVE.

Actually, I'm talking about 6 trees total. 3 trees for each pvp or pve builds. They all have the same abilities, just the 3 pvp trees are tweaked specifically for pvp. If your in a pvp zone, instance or flagged, the pvp tree is active.

I've been talking about this forever...but I doubt Blizzard is going to push it out. I've always said there is NO reason why they cannot have a separate set of rules or functions for talents and abilities depending on PVP/PVE. Rather they nerf one aspect because of its performance in one setting and it kills the performance in the other. Grexis' idea is also viable but until Blizzard realizes they can balance one without killing the other I don't foresee it happening.
