I've Been Bugged!

|

Today I got set up with my body bugg. This thing is wicked cool! Check this out..This thing monitors heart flux, accelerometer, galvanic skin response, and skin temperature. All of this data is stored in the device until I connect it to a usb port on my computer. The data gets uploaded to a website and is annalyzed to display lots of data about my physical well being. If your interested in reading more about this item check out www.bodybugg.com.

Next week I start my training classes. Just as I thought the two nights I would get stuck with are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Not that I'm complaining, I knew that it would effect my raid nights if I were still playing wow. I was right lol.

It doesn't appear that my diet is going to be too tough. I'm still getting to eat the foods I like just not as much and spread out to 6 meals a day. When I first heard that my jaw dropped to the floor. "Six meals a day!? Are they on crack!?" Actually no they aren't. I'll be eating less and small portions throughout the day. I do however have to cut out the fastfood and high sodium foods. I'm eating way too much of it as it is.

Here are my current stats
Current Weight: 357 lbs
Current Body Fat: 44.1%
Current Lean Body Mass: 199.56 lbs

I'll post my goals as I work them out with the trainer. All I know right now is that I need to get below 19% body fat which I assume is around 156 lbs. I don't want to be THAT small so if I can bulk up some decent muscle mass I should look pretty good at around 180 but we'll see how things go.

Good luck!! I know I feel better just from the few months my roomie and I have been going to the gym and doing aqua classes.

I think it's really cool that you have that monitor. It'll give you some great feedback on how you're doing.

Man I knew you were a buggy bastage but damn! Haha just kidding. That's actually really cool man. One thing I will tell you that I hate about most trainers is how often they want you to look at your stats. When you look at them too much you get depressed by the fluctuation from things. You'd be surprised how much weight is lost by simple things like using the restroom. Yes, it sounds gross but it's very true.

I will tell you that the diet is going to be the absolute hardest part of this for you. When I got on my weight loss kick, that was the hard part but hey, I lost 40 pounds from the end of March to beginning of August last year. Then put it all back on :-(

One thing that I have seen out of all the diet/nutrition plans was the smartest thing ever and helps with the diet. Eat well for 6 days and set one day where you eat more of what you want. Now that doesn't mean pig out but still. When I had Fridays off, that was my day and I'd have popcorn and soda at the movies then eat some pizza or something.

There is also a really nice cook book from Better Homes and Gardens called The Dieter's Cookbook or something like that. It's a spiral bound cook book. Good recipes and it gives you all the food stats like calories and all which is nice.

I hope you found a good dietician (sp?) who doesn't try to seriously jack you up on food. Heck, eatting 500 calories less a day than your BMI will have you lose on average at least 1 pound a week. Not too bad.

I'm cheering for ya bro. Good luck with it all.

My dietitian isn't going to extremes on my diet. Which is cool with me. I've been looking through some of the sample meal plans and don't have a problem with any of them. It's all normal food, with some healthier choices mixed in, and smaller portions through out the entire day. My only problem with it is the frequency of my meals and snacks and remembering them. The cool thing is my body bugg can remind me when to eat.

Kevin my trainer is a really cool guy. We won't be focusing too much on the stats but once a week. The stats aren't what you would typically look at. The tools they use to evaluate me tells me things like how much muscle I burned instead of carbs/fat, which is really bad. Burning muscle is something we want to avoid even in the smallest amounts for example. I'll share more of the scientific data they pull up on my weekly evaluations. It's really cool stuff.
